Earwig
Earwigs are very common and often found around decomposing matter such as leaf piles, compost piles and house foundations if debris is pushed up next to the home.
They look intimidating with their forceps but do not bite or sting. They are capable of pinching with their forceps but rarely break the skin. They pose no danger to humans and do not lay eggs in humans ear, contrary to popular belief.
